Border trade between India and China through Nathu La Pass resumed on 1 August 2026 after a six year suspension, restoring a historic trade route between Sikkim and the Tibet Autonomous Region. The prior suspension was associated with the COVID 19 pandemic and subsequent India China border tensions.
India and Sri Lanka have agreed to take forward the negotiations on updating the Free Trade Agreement and will sign the Social Security pact soon.
