๐ Why in News?
A major institutional advance occurred on 27 January 2022, when India hosted the first India-Central Asia Summit.
The leaders agreed to institutionalise the summit mechanism and hold it every two years. Regular meetings of Foreign Ministers, Trade Ministers, Culture Ministers and Secretaries of Security Councils were envisaged, alongside an India-Central Asia Secretariat in New Delhi.
