India-Uzbekistan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and India's Central Asia Strategy Why in News?
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a State Visit to Uzbekistan on 29-30 August 2026.
- The visit renewed focus on India's Central Asia policy and its strategic engagement with Uzbekistan.
- Official outcomes included a Cultural **Exchange Programme **for 2026-30.
- India and Uzbekistan agreed to cooperate on conservation and restoration of the Buddhist sites of Fayaz Tepa and Kara Tepa at Termez.
- Archival cooperation and an MoU on Ayurveda and other traditional systems of medicine were also part of the outcomes.
